2018 ~ The College Football Season Week 7 (7 on 7 Letters Week) ~ featuring Denison, Earlham, Amherst, & Hendrix

Which school of seven letters wants this more.  They may have no idea the number of letters in their school has any importance whatsoever, but oh yes, they do.  That is, on the College Football gridiron!

Game 1 – Indiana vs. Denison

Denison University is a private school of 2,200 students located in Granville, Ohio.  Denison is part of the Ohio Five, a gang of liberal arts schools that terrorize central Ohio with their excellent educations and unique opportunities.  Oh spare a thought for the poor residents of this frightened land!

Denison teams are the Big Red, which make them sound large and angry, perfect for intimidating your opponents on the field.  Being one of the fearsome Five, their psychological advantage is complete.

Game 2 – Houston vs. Earlham

Earlham College is a small private college of 1,000 students in the midwestern town of Richmond, Indiana.  Earlham is a member of the Colleges That Change Lives, a non-profit organization seeking to find a best-fit school for prospective college students, and also an organization that is at constant odds with their archival, The Schools Uninterested In Changing Lives.

Game 3 – Amherst vs. Rutgers

In western Massachusetts is Amherst College, a private school of 1,800.  Put simply, Amherst is one of the best liberal arts schools in the entire country.  But enough said about superlative academics.

Sports is heavily embedded in Amherst culture.  One-third of the student body is a member of a sports team.  There are intramurals, one of which being – a Spelling Bee.  Listen, do not ever make fun of a spelling bee or spellers.  No sport could possibly produce more white-knuckle tension than the National Spelling Bee.  I have to watch the final round through my fingers!

Game 4 – Hendrix vs. Wyoming

Hendrix College is in Conway, Arkansas and has around 1,400 students.  Hendrix is home to Shirttails, Daihatsu cars, disco trays, a Ghost Roast, Foam Party, Finals Rave, and of course, neighbors to Toad Suck.  Would I lie.

The teams of Hendrix are the Warriors.  Conway Warriors.  Daihatsu Warriors.  Foam Party Warriors.  The Warriors of Toad Suck Park.  Oh my god, the other team has no chance!

Let the games begin!
