Last Thursday Night Game of the Week – St. Cloud State vs. Boston College
St. Cloud State University is a public state school of 14,000 students located in the central Minnesota town of St. Cloud, itself named after Saint-Cloud in France.
Boston College is a private Jesuit school of 14,500 students located in beautiful Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston, itself named after the city of Boston in England.
I’m feeling the France-England tension here. A public-private showdown! We continue.
SCSU has, incredibly, over 200 academic programs. Boston College, 60. Boston College is ranked 38th best in the country. St. Cloud is not. Can you feel the resentment on both sides?
St. Cloud’s teams are the Huskies. BC’s teams are the Eagles. St. Cloud’s mascot is named Blizzard. BC’s mascot is Baldwin. Football or no football, Blizzard and Baldwin are going to fight at halftime!
